Long-abandoned runway at Syracuse airport is getting a new use, but it doesn’t include planes: A runway at Syracuse airport that was abandoned half a century ago is about to see new life — as a parking lot for construction workers building Micron’s massive semiconductor plant in Clay. Micron will use shuttle buses to transport construction workers from the airport to White Pine Commerce Park nine miles away in Clay.

Report: Syracuse has done just 11% of bike lane work outlined a dozen years ago: Syracuse is making progress becoming a bicycle-friendly community, but there’s still considerable work to be done, a new report states. City Auditor Alexander Marion released a report Wednesday titled “Incomplete Streets,” which found the city has finished just 11% of 88 projects recommended in the bicycle plan the city adopted in 2012.
Syracuse gets court order to demolish fire-damaged apartment building: A judge has given the city of Syracuse permission to demolish a privately owned apartment building damaged by a large fire last month. Inspectors with the fire department and code enforcement office inspected the building and determined it was “an unoccupied hazard, unfit for human habitation, a danger to human life” according to a lawsuit.
Popular sports bar to take over pub spot at golf club: Potter’s Pub, the public sports bar/restaurant at the Radisson Greens golf course, welcomed a crowd of football fans Sunday to watch the Bills-Chiefs game. Then it closed for good, ending a nine-year run. The space won’t be unused for long, though. A popular Liverpool bar will open a second location at the course.

After a 73-70 loss against the University at Albany Great Danes at the JMA Wireless Dome Wednesday night, SU head coach Felisha Legette-Jack aired out her frustrations about a lack of fan support. “Nobody cares about our program. Nobody cares about women’s basketball.”
