Sanabria
Guitar
from the Sanabria family of Guitar and Harp makers in Paraguay.
It was hand-built in the Sanabria workshop in Asuncion, Paraguay. The Sanabria family has been making harps and guitars for five generations.
This guitar is a large bodied classical, made by Agustin Sanabria in the late 1950's or early 1960's. The large body makes for wonderful warmth of tone with strong mid range and low frequencies. The guitar has a slightly shorter than standard classical scale and a narrower fretboard which makes for an easy to play guitar.
This classical guitar uses a solid spruce top, South American Mahogany and other locally sourced hardwoods for the neck and braces. It features intricate bindings and a matching rosette.
The guitar had a couple of cracks in the back and one crack at the edge of the top, which have been repaired well. The guitar is strong and stable while retaining its resonance. The entire guitar was then refinished using high quality lacquers.
Scale length of this guitar is 644 Millimeters for very comfortable playing. Nut width is 42 Millimeters. The fretboard is in very good condition. The guitar has just been refretted. Action on the 12th fret low E string is 4 millimeters and the 12th fret high E string measures 3.5 millimeters.
The guitar comes equipped with fairly new tuning keys that work smoothly and hold tune well. The original label is in very good condition.
The guitar will be carefully packed and shipped. The Augustin Sanabria classical comes in a hardshell case.
