    Description

Here is a scarce book. This is
    Regional trends in the
    Geology of the Appalachian-Caledonian-Hercynian-Mauritanide Orogen.
Published in 1982, this 398-page book contains 39 articles on the shared orogenic history of these regions now separated by the Atlantic ocean. From the Appalachain mountains to Newfoundland, Ireland, Great Britain, Scandinavia and France, this area was dramatically affected by mountain-building events when the continents came together in the Paleozoic. Although now widely separated, these areas share themes in their geology that are nicely linked by the many articles in this great book. Includes many geologic maps of various regions. Most articles are high-level and somewhat general since they cover such large regions, but also brief, averaging about 9-10 pages each. I've shown a few pages of the Table of Contents to give you an idea what's inside.
A cool book for any geologist or armchair geologist in these regions that wants to gain a better understanding
of their region. A scarce book I have never seen before.
Expert packing assured. Shipping weight is three pounds. The recent increase in postage rates
was pretty big. As a result, Media Mail is now my default shipping method to keep shipping affordable.
