    Description

Lot of 10 original 1940's vintage travel decals and gummed window stickers from Skowhegan Maine.
The "Miss Maine Pageant" and two Skowhegan Teepees are pre-pasted window stickers (gummed on the front), the rest are decals.
This is a pretty amazing collection, all appear to be in original condition with minor signs of age, and some of the envelopes are damaged and may not be the originals.  I believe these date to the late 40's; the Maine Turnpike opened in 1947, and the 1949 Skowhegan State Fair included Saturday August 13 & Sunday August 14, the dates of the Miss Maine Pageant.  In addition, the previous owner attended the University of Maine at Orono and graduated in 1950.
The three American Indian themed decals (all labeled "Skowhegan, Maine") were made by Norsid, the Maine Turnpike decal is by the Palm Brothers, and the Maine lobster and Portland Maine decals are by Goldfarb.  The stickers are not printed with a manufacturer's name.
In addition to what's shown, this listing includes a white and blue "Skateland Old Orchard Beach" scallop shell pasted sticker (gummed on the back), approximately 6" across.
