  • Condition: This report has been rebound and is in very good condition. The covers are clean and show no damage other than a light rounding of the bottom corner on the rear cover. Clean interior with no markings other than former owner's signatures, and no soiling save two 1-inch small glue spots on the front blank page. The text pages have age-darkened a bit, but have no tears, creases, or chips. No cracks to interior hinges. Binding remains tight and square. A very nice copy.

    by Franz Boas that is part of the Smithsonian Report for 1895. The report measures 6.25 x 9.25-inches in size, and the Boas article runs from page 311 to page 738 (=427 pages in length), making it the most complete study of the Kwakiutl Indians to date. See photos for contents.

    by Walter James Hoffman beginning on page 739 to page 968. This article is based on an analysis of the art collection at the Smithsonian.
