Here is an excellent condition,
1940's Juan Estruch
Walnut Classical Guitar.
This is a hand built classical guitar. It was made in the Juan Estruch workshop in Barcelona, Spain.
This instrument was built using solid Spanish Walnut for the back and sides, a Cedar neck and a solid spruce top. The binding is made using Maple and the headstock cap is Walnut. The guitar has a beautiful Estruch traditional rosette.
This guitar has been restored including repairing a couple of hairline cracks in the top near the fretboard. There were no cracks in the back or side of the guitar. The entire guitar was finished using lacquers, as it was originally. The original three color label is in excellent condition.
Scale length on this guitar is 650 millimeters. This scale length gives the guitar easy playability and reach. Nut width is 53 millimeters. The bridge was replaced with a rosewood copy of an Estruch design bridge, hand made by Alfredo Velazquez.
The fretboard is in excellent condition. The guitar has just been refretted with brass frets, as it had originally and has excellent intonation. Action on the 12th fret low E string is 3.4 millimeters and the 12th fret high E string measures 3.0 millimeters. This guitar has high quality tuning keys installed which hold tune well.
Founded in 1880, Estruch guitars have maintained a true Spanish guitar feel and sound for more than 140 years. The sound of this guitar is characterized by bright clear trebles. The bass is gentle and balanced, making the guitar perfect for playing your favorite melodies at home.
The guitar will be carefully packed and shipped in a good condition case and placed inside a sturdy box.
