  • Condition: This oversized paperback is in fair condition. It was never trimmed to size. The covers are clean, but detached. The front cover has a large chip to the top spine corner and small chips along the spine. The rear cover has small chips along the fore-edge. The interior pages have no markings or soiling. The pages are in very good condition showing no damage. Finally, the binding along the spine has deteriorated such that several leaves are now loose. This memoir needs to be rebound, and priced accordingly.

    by Franz Boas. It was published in 1898 by the American Museum of Natural History, and issued as Volume II, Anthropology I of The Jesup North Pacific Expedition. The memoir measures 12 x 14-inches in size, and paginated Pp. 25-127. This is followed by Plates VII-XII of black and white illustrations of Bella Coola masks. Each plate contains many masks—see photos for plate examples. See photos for contents as well. This rare memoir currently sells for 0+ when found.
