    Description

    SCARCE ITEM!!
This is USGS Professional Paper 629-B,
Igneous Rocks in the Bingham Mining District, Utah.
Published in 1973, this is a scarce report on this interesting mining area. This 42-page book discusses the various igneous rocks that host and accompany the Bingham Canyon copper mine.
The igneous rocks includes varied types intruded or extruded over an eight million year period, some of which were responsible for mineralization at this world-class deposit. All of the igneous rocks types are described in detail. Attention is also given to structural reconstruction to determine the depth of emplacement of the stocks, so it takes a broader view of the igneous rocks than
    just
    their types.
Kind of a classic, indispensable study relating to the economic geology of the area. Scarce, as these have mostly been gobbled up by mining and exploration companies.
