    Description

POPULAR OLD ITEM!! HARDER AND HARDER TO FIND ONE THESE DAYS!!
    This is USGS Bulletin 931-E,
Tungsten Deposits in the Sierra Nevada near Bishop, California; a Preliminary Report
. Published in 1941, there can't be many of these around. The publication consists of a 26 page book and all six of the original maps. Three of them are in a pocket in the back, and three are foldout maps bound into the book. There is also a glossy photo of one of the areas, and numerous diagrams and maps within the book. There are three main areas with tungsten deposits with several in each area:
    Near Pine Creek:
    Pine Creek mine
    Adamson claims
    Pine Creek Canyon prospects
    Millovitch prospect
    Carpenter and Brown prospect
    SE side of Mt Tom
    North of Pine Creek:
    Round Valley Peak deposit
    Hilton Creek deposit
    McGee Mtn prospect
    Other prospects
    South of Bishop:
    Pickup mine
    Rossi mine
    Coyote Valley prospects
This is a cool area with numerous scheelite mines and prospects scattered through a wide area. This area offers
fluorite, scheelite, molybdenite, garnet, diopside, epidote, clinozoisite, sphene and other minerals.
This would be a great companion during your mountain ramblings and a great tool for targeting collecting locations. Here is a great opportunity to own a rare geologic publication in nearly new condition.
